Eric Beare '00/IL
Freelance Artist
Eric Beare

Brooklyn, NY

As a freelance Brooklyn based artist, Eric's work is predominantly custom made to order. The majority of his artwork is commissioned by decorators and designers who seek him out for his diverse skill set, professionalism, and resourcefulness. Consequently, the handmade artwork he produces spans a wide variety of styles, mediums, and genres. His specialties range from large scale scenic murals to traditional botanical painting, handcrafted accessories and objets d'art, as well as surface designs for table top, textiles and wallpaper. As a student at RISD, Eric took advantage of interdisciplinary opportunities and forged lasting relationships with students of every major. This network of connections as well as the expansive NYC RISD alumni community has provided an inexhaustible source of entrepreneurial opportunities for the self employed artist. His work has appeared in the pages of House and Garden, Architectural Digest, New York Times Style, Martha Stewart Living, Food and Wine, Florida Design, Deco Home, and House and Garden Magazine, walked the runway of several Isaac Mizrahi fashion shows, graced the shelves of Macy's and Khol's, been displayed in the Cooper Hewitt Museum and American Museum of Natural History, and sails the seas on 5 Royal Caribbean Cruise Ships. With his short attention span and difficulty committing to any one style or discipline, he welcomes the variety of his line of work and considers it the secret to his success.
