Video documentation of Otis’ Mindshare presentation at RISD November 4, 2017.
Otis Gray is an artist, writer, and cook from the deep woods of Vermont. He graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 2014 with a BFA in Sculpture. Between serving tables, bartending, co-founding food truck, and skipping class to cook all day, his life has been consistently interrupted by a fascination with food.
Otis is now an award-winning storyteller, Moth Storyslam Champ, and the host/producer of the Hungry podcast- a show about food and the stories behind it. From the Muslim owners of "Trump Cafe," to Mayan amaranth farmers in Guatemala, to Senator Bernie Sanders, Hungry aims to share voices from every facet of the human experience in an effort to understand it.
In 2017, Otis continues a crusade to share the power of food and cooking in a polarized world.
